Digestives

It’s hard not to be distracted when writing. That’s what digestives are doing to me now. Digestives are McVities biscuits covered in dark chocolate. They are making me really happy, and bring back memories of childhood in England. These biscuits are a staple at tea time, not to be passed up. You cannot eat digestives without drinking tea. I have my Earl Grey tea next to me here as I gear up to write this blog. This is not an advertisement. I just enjoy tea and biscuits.

007It reminds me of a story about my uncle Bill. He was the youngest in the family and had long blonde curly hair. When it was time to enter kindergarten the hair was reluctantly cut off by my grandmother, and his first pants put on. Off he goes to school. Then at recess time he goes trotting off home to mum to get his cup of tea and cookies. His first painful lesson in life, they don’t serve tea and biscuits in school.

It was years before I knew what coffee tasted like. During WWII we could only get an awful tasting liquid coffee. Now in the USA I drink coffee often, but never lost my love of tea and digestives.
